An upstanding community partner, Megladon is proud to take part in a wide range of community service initiatives with the following organizations:
RecognizeGood® is a local nonprofit that provides a means for individuals, businesses and other nonprofits to illuminate selfless volunteers, charitable acts and community service throughout the greater Austin area. There are several active RecognizeGood programs that work toward this mission from different angles, but the common theme is simple – the illumination of GOOD in our community.
R.O.C.K., Ride On Center for Kids has provided equine assisted activities and therapies to children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities in Central Texas for over 13 years. Our mission is to improve independence and life skills, in partnership with the horse.
Texas Baptist Children’s Home
The dream of providing quality Christian care for abused and neglected children in Central Texas became a reality in 1950 through the Texas Baptist Children’s Home. The services offered by this outstanding organization include family care assistance for working mothers with dependent children, a Healthy Opportunities that Protect and Empower (HOPE) Program and counseling support.
MARC Motorcycle Run
The MARC Motorcycle Run is an annual ride that benefits the Milam Association for Retarded Citizens. Hundreds of riders raise funds from local business and individuals with the goal of supporting the consumers of the MARC center in Rockdale, Texas, and other children’s programs.
Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people, and it is the aim of Ducks Unlimited to preserve wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever.
Brentwood Elementary School’s mission statement is to create a community of self-directed lifelong learners who will excel in meeting the challenges of our multicultural, technologically advanced 21st century society. The success of the programs and initiatives rely heavily on community support to ensure that no child is left behind.
Megladon supports Gause Elementary School every August with providing school supplies for underprivileged children. Every year, there are dozens of families without the means to provide needed supplies, and it is our goal to allow them to return to school without financial strain.
Buddy Oney Toy Run
The Buddy Oney Toy Run is an annual motorcycle run dedicated to collecting toys for underprivileged children in Milam county. Local businesses and individuals contribute toys and 100% of collections are donated in support of Christmas Roundup and Child Protective Services.
YMCA of Austin
The YMCA of Austin is dedicated to building programs for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility that promote strong families, character values, youth leadership, community development and international understanding. The Y makes accessible the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow and thrive by providing supportive and inclusive environments that nurture the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nation’s health and well-being and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
Hope Food Pantry
Austin Gives™ is a community program to recognize and encourage business philanthropy in metropolitan Austin. Megladon is incredibly proud to be a member of Austin Gives, and fully supports the idea that by supporting the community we all live in, we make our businesses stronger.
