Megladon Achieves Verizon FOC Program Certification on Fiber Termination Process

Austin, TX – Megladon Manufacturing Group, Ltd., a leader in fiber optic products and innovation for communication providers, data centers and the test & measurement industry, announced today that the company’s fiber termination process has been certified compliant to the requirements and specifications of the Verizon FOC program. The cables and process were graded against the acceptable limits set forth by the Telcordia GR-326-CORE standard.

An independent test lab granted the certification, ensuring compliance of Megladon’s fiber termination process for a variety of fiber jumper assemblies, including: 1.2mm & 2.0mm SC & LC terminations as well as MTP®/MPO.

Megladon’s patented HLC® termination process has been included in the certification. “Our HLC® process represents the highest performance of fiber interconnect available,” said Megladon’s General Manager Daniel Hogberg. “The Verizon FOC Certification allows us to participate in Verizon’s projects at a much higher level and bring the HLC® technology into their next-generation network.”

The rapid expansion of carrier networks and increased requirements for high-speed data transmission further stresses the importance of these certifications.
